I'm trying to understand how the "Between" rule works for Non-numeric characters.

Currently, If I enter and two non-numeric values for a between rule the value will always display.

The behavior is pretty clear with numbers. But is there documentation on how this is governed with non-numeric values? Is there an internal value or weight applied or is this not designed for non-numerics (or both)?
