O, I've tried EVERYTHING in the book to try and fix this (for a few years) and I cant stand it anymore.

I designed a master shape and I inserted the data graphics field ID_No in the top center of the field. Oddly, it placed in to the right (using the offsets didn't give be the result I wanted). I then used Paragraph center to place it in the middle and that was fine. However, if I change other shapes to the shape I designed of if I add fields to the shape and refresh, the ID_NO field shifts to the right again and I have to manually recenter them.

I have tried playing with the shapesheet, the protections, EVERYTHING.

Can you help?

Easiest for us, would be to get your original master so we could inspect it.
Can you upload it in a drawing?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, you want some shape data text to be shown at the top center of your shape?
If that is what you want, here is how you do that: select a proper style of the data graphics. In you case, probably "heading 2" will do, it centers the value horizontally. I would not recommend to mess with shape sheets in case of data graphics.

OMG!!!!!! All this time I was using the Calllout 3 style instead of heading 2! I NEVER thought of that!!!!!

;D ;D ;D

Yea, if you want a custom data graphics you better create one... :)
The ones that are pre-defined are pretty resistant to changes.
