Reading the features request category I somehow come to notice that most requests can be solved with the standard tools of visio - what is really missing is a
tool to bundle all the wonderful "dispersed" solutions uploaded here.
As some how the standard start configuration file is limited to a choice of icons, I would not mind starting with a template that sets some
zoom centering functionality or
anchor features to drawn shapes ,that setups
a pages hierarchy view ... and so on.
