1 line of code:
shpFill.CellsU("FillForegnd").Formula = strRGB
causes my mouse pointer to go to spin state and remain there until I move my mouse

The line is called as an CALLTHIS event to User-defined DEPENDSON Shape Data change. For example, when Prop.Capacity shape data is over 80, then change color to Red.

It functionally works, but is a bad user experience as it can be misinterpreted as a crash or overload on memory.

I tried referring the shapesheet FillForegnd to a User-defined Cell and changing the Use Defined cell instead. This neither improved nor made it worse.

Any help would be appreciated

No help with this problem, but a question: Why do you use VBA for this? It sounds more like a job for some ShapeSheet formulas.

It is a good question. I am creating multiple stencils that have the same function so I wanted
-a central code sheet to manage them all
-there also other behaviors that the code is handling, that line is only one part

I did try resolving this through a formula and it gave me the same issue
