Adding custom shapes with a container field into 'My Shapes' for drop and drag

I've created a custom design combining a shape with an icon in the top corner. To stop the icon from stretching when the shape is re scaled, I have surrounded the design using a container. This seems to work and I can get the shape to re scale with the text whilst the icon remains in the top corner (un-scaled). My issue is that I would like to add the design as a drag and drop shape. However when adding the shape to 'My Shapes' the container field is lost and the whole design (icon and all) stretches when re scaling.
Does anyone know a work around?
