Can I configure 2D shape connection points to only accept 2D shape connections?

Is it possible to configure a connection point on a 2D shape to only accept connections/glue from other 2D shapes, and refuse connection/glue from 1D shapes?

(I want to glue 2D shapes together on specific connection points, but to prevent 1D connectors from connecting/gluing to these connection points)

One way I can think of is to check if the 1D endpoint section exists for that shape and filter them out that way.

Certainly possible but better if I can just prevent a 1D connection via a shapesheet setting.

Not aware of any such stylesheet functionality.  Connection points don't care who possesses them.

If you have multiple connection points on a side and try to glue to another 2D shape with identically spaced connection points, then, if I'm not mistaken, only one connection point will actually glue.  Visio will select whichever point is closest to the mouse cursor.  This would be a problem if you need connectivity info for every point.
