How to make text visible on different backgrounds

I often use yellow text if it will be against a dark background.



But this poses a serious problem when trying to edit it. It is almost unreadable against the white background.



Is there a solution to this?
Using Visio 2019, part of Office 365 on Windows 10

I just realized that I mistakenly set that second image to expire after 1 day. Here it is again without an expiration date.
