Overlaid objects on text test...

Next Visio 2007 Pro SP2 Oddity...

I have created a sample document (attached) that when I print to a color printer (in this case an HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series PCL 6) the objects overlaid on the text printed as expected.

However on the following two black and white printers - the print preview is correct - but the output is not (the text comes to the forefront and the objects fall to the back):

HP LaserJet 2300dn PCL 5e
HP LaserJet 2420dn PCL 5e

At this point I have not tried upgrading the printer drivers to PCL 6 - but am curious if anyone experiences similar printing behavior with the objects and text in the file?

If I output this via Adobe Acrobat or via Save as PDF - the PDF that is output is as expected (attached as well).

Oddly enough - it prints out OK with the same printer drivers on a Windows 7 machine???

When I get into print problems, I often go looking for some print setting similar to "print text as graphics" or "rasterize".

If that doesn't work, export a bitmap at the resolution of your printer (this will be a big file!) and print that.

Of course, your post was more about seeing if others are having the same problems, I guess.

My workaraound for Visio printing errors is to either save the work as a PNG or as a PDF and see if either of those prints well?

Wanted to make certain it wasn't an XP SP3 / Visio 2007 SP2 issue...?
