Hello,

I downloaded a few vendor specific Visio templates to use in some documentation.

On some of the shapes I want to do a Callout, but when I select the shape the callout button gets greyed out.

If anyone is interested this is the stencil I am using - https://www.commscope.com/resources/visio-stencils/

In particular this one - "CommScope Copper Panels and Components.vss"

Anyone know why this option is greyed out?

Cheers

Because they are one-diminsional shapes. If you add a standard Visio rectangle shape (2-dimensional) to the page then the Callout is available. If you add a connector (1-dimensional) then the Callout is greyed-out.
Why MS decided to do this? Who knows!

Thanks Paul. That's very frustrating but at least I know why now!
