Adjust One Line, with few lines

Hi there, i drew two line like a number 7.
when i select the top line, it select both the lines. I would only like to adjust one of the line and not both. How can i do this?

Choose the Pencil tool.  Move the cursor over one of the vertex points and left click and then drag.  You'll see the cursor change to a 4-directional arrow.  You can hold shift key and select additional vertices or inflection handles.
