Vector symbol over letters?

Is there a way to render characters with the little arrow on top indicating a vector?
Using Visio 2019, part of Office 365 on Windows 10

I found a way that works pretty well.

       
  • Define an arrow object (line with arrow tip on right end).
  • Edit the object test field (F2).
  • Enter the vector name.
  • Select the Text Block tool (Ctrl+Shift+4).
  • Move the borders so that the text is positioned right under the arrow.
It worked better for me if I changed the Text settings:

       
  • Set the Top and bottom text block margins to zero.
  • Set the Paragraph Line setting to 85% and all the rest to zero.
