Changing the format of a data-linked report
« on: April 26, 2018, 04:04:03 PM »
Hi guy,

So.  I have just discovered that you can attach data to a shape.  I have an excel source with 20+ fields.  I'd like to be able to print out the data alongside each shape, but the only way I've seen to do that is to create a report.  (Correct me if I'm wrong!)  The report therefore is a very long skinny line of data fields and data.  ??? Is there a way to make a nice vertical report?  By the way, in my searches I saw that a shape can also have the labels (field and data) listed just to the right vertically when you drag the row onto the shape.  Only problem there is I get only two fields - randomly selected it seems.  Or maybe just in the middle of the information.  Thanks for your help.

Hi,

please provide an example document that shows what you have and a sketch what you want.
Report is to export data from Visio to Excel.
I guess you need a custom shape that shows its data as arranged (Insert -> Field).
