Greetings fellow Visio users,

I have been working on an important diagram in Visio 2010.  One other user edited once.

When I print via paper or PDF, phantom connectors come out of nowhere and I cannot remove them.

I have tried everything under the sun to show these phantom connectors; under View, Show all.  When working on the diagram, it's as though they don't exist.  They only show up when I print.

Please help!

Best,

Clarali :)

make sure you are using YOUR version....not some sort of shared/commented/etc
version that might have your buddy's doodling ;-)

Of course, ask him what he did or if he had a local copy of his changes

Try to print to virtual pdf and show it here

PDF attached here  - items blurred for confidentiality.

I also attached a .GIF screenshot of my Visio and how it looks in print preview.

You can overview the Layout for your drawings, and check - may be some elements are linked to invisible or "print only" layout.

Couldn't see the red connectors. Can you highlight?

Have you looked at the layers assignments?  There may be a layer that's not visible, but can be printed.  If it's not visible, it won't be selectable.

Maybe you could remove the confidential info and post the drawing

Why?  It doesn't change anything. Thank you, though!

Layers do not appear to be the issue  :(

If you remove everything from the diagram (select all -> delete -> save as...) do the connectors still appear?
If they do, then you can consider posting the (blank) diagram for us to see.

One more thing, Visio has "drawing explorer" which shows ALL shapes. Developer tab (see "how to turn on developer mode" in FAQ, if you don't see this tab) -> Drawing Explorer checkbox.

Here is the educational Video on this functionality:

But if you post the diagram on here, other people could have a look at it.
