[Apologies if this was already asked.] Can you change shaped data, save it in the drawing, and automatically update the external data source?

History: 1) Created visio diagrams with shape data (lots and lots of shapes and data). 2) Used Report feature to export to Excel. 3) Linked spreadsheet as external data source and SUCCESSFULLY linked rows to shapes using GUID. 4) Now, I want ability to change shape data and update the spreadsheet.
