Org Chart Fields, Shape Data, and ShapeSheet Shape Data - Ghost Data

I have a multitude of Org Charts in one Visio 2010 document that were improperly put together and I have been tasked to make them all the same.

My problem is with Shape Data and Org Chart Field.  Using VBA, I scanned through all of the shapes to determine what shape data was defined for each shape and then I removed all of custom shape data from the shapes.  I made sure all of the shape data rows were the same across all shapes.  I even made sure the document stencil masters were clean of any custom data definition.  I thought that after that it would be a breeze to fix the org charts to make sure the shape data was correctly entered in each shape.

I noticed two problems:

1. If a new shape (position) is added to the chart, the shape data for that new shape still contains all of the custom fields that I removed.

2.  In the Org Chart Display Options, under the Fields tab, all of the custom fields that I removed from the shapes were still available.

How do I get rid completely of the custom fields?
