So me not being a particularly code savy guy, leads me to ask for guidance this most basic of question.

I have a lovely Visio Diagram that I want to publish as HTML content.  I seem to be able to accomplish this manually without too much effort.  However, the next step is to dynamically replace certain text fields with new values from an external source.  I would have thought that simply editing the .htm file value fields might have done this, but no.  In short, how can I modify a published webPage's content?

I am just trying to do this via brute force prior to any programatic effort.

Thanks.

It depends on what you mean by "text fields", if you mean the text within the shape then you are out of luck as this text is part of the page images, look at the files that were created and you'll find some image files like gif_1.gif or jpg_1.jpg

Ok.  That makes sense with what I am seeing.  So how would one generate a webPage that allows for dynamic conent (ie-not part of the *.gif)?  Obvisouly, I can come in and manual change the HTML files to add elements, but I was hoping that the "hooks" would already be there from the Visio diagram.  Similar to the hyperlink functionality.  This is embedded in the webPage w/o any modification to the generated HTML.

For dynamic content you need a language like PHP, Perl, ASP or Java running on a web server, or maybe Javascript.
All this is way, way, way beyond anything Visio can do. However, much depends on exactly what you want to achieve.
