Well, comparing Visio and Excel VBA is not quite one to one.  Downloading the SDK for Visio is a good starting place, it has lots of examples and it's free.  The Visualizing Information by David Parker is a great book, but somewhat advanced.  Not familiar with the 2nd book.

Then, there's the macro recorder.  It's a good way to get basic syntax structure.  Also free.

My experience is that there's not nearly as many VBA books for Visio as there is for Excel.  It's night and day!

VisioGuy's website, http://www.visguy.com/ has a wealth of info, as does John Goldsmith's, and, of course, David Parker's BVisual site.

You can also search this form for books.  There have been several posts with recommendations for books and for learning VBA.
