I am using visio 2010 and have a lot of large files, which are drawings of our college campus buildings. I am in the IT department and someone utilized Visio Previwer to look at drawings. The problem now is that there are several files which are currently rendered almost useless due to the association with the previewer. When I try to save or delete a file the error message appears:

"The action cannot be completed because the file is open in Microsoft Office Visio Previewer.

Close the file and try again."

This is causing issues with deletion and saving.

I have tried finding the Visio Previewer program in the ADD/REMOVE programs utility in Control Panel. I have looked through the "Options" in the Visio File Tab and not noticed anything pertinent.
I have tried copying and pasting the file to a new location.

I need some help getting this unmucked.

Thanks in Advance,

AS far as I understand the Visio Viewer is an Active-X addon for Internet Explorer. try opening IE and clear the cache etc. Also look in Manage Addons and see what is there.
