Automatically link external data to shapes ONLY

Hi!

When I automatically link external data to SHAPEs I also get links to connectors, which I do not want. How can I choose what kind of shape I want to automatically link. I want to link data to process SHAPEs only.

When linking to shapes automatically it is necessary to have a field/column in the source  data that is unique to each shape (such as text or the shapename). So you would probably have the name of the process shape in the source data to provide the link.

Yes, but how come the connectors get linked too? They have no text or shape name?

Sure, here it is. Thanks for your help! As you can see the connectors get linked to empty rows in the external data..which is my problem since I have to manually choose no data graphic for each connector.

Or if its possible to only apply data Graphics to rows that contain any information?

as I mentioned in my first reply, the shapes have to have a shape data field that matchs a column name in the source data. Your process shapes have a field "process number" which appears to have not had any data entered (at least in the few shapes I checked). Your source data has a column "#", which is an illegal name since special characters are not allowed in column names. Change it in your source and update the process shapes with the appropriate numbers and you should have better luck.

Thanks for your patience, I still don´t get a hang of it. I attach a new file with the # substituted by "Nr". Could you possibly do one example of how it should look like in the shape data to get it right please?
