Hi!

I have linked external data from an Excel sheet to a process map in Visio (using 2013). I  want to automatically link the rows to the shapes in the visio drawing. BUT, I only want to link rows to process shapes, not connectors and document shapes. Is there a way to do this or do I have to link manually?

Thanks!

Linking automatically requires the datasource and the diagram shapes to both have unique identifiers that can have a relationship defined. In other words you either have to ensure that the shapes have unique names (and the name is in the record you want to link) or there must be a shapedata field with a unique (name) in it. I usually make it the shape name and then manage the source file accordingly.

Yes I have managed to dot that. The problem is that the data graphics also pops up at all connectors, which I do no intend to. How can I avoid that?
