Greetings,

I am trying to create a Visio diagram which depecits a folder structure and applicable user permissions (e.g. read, write delete etc.).

Which Visio template a folder shape?

I'd suggest using the Software and Database -> COM and OLE shapes. You need Visio Pro for these. They contain shapes suitable for documents, folders etc. You''ll have to add your own custom data for your premissions etc. If you don't have Visio Pro then you should be able to use standard clip-art to represent these shapes.
