Advanced repeat option question

Hello everybody.
I have a question about the feature "repeat" (asigned to F4 fey).

I have a shape with a shape data. This data is used to identify the shape (1, 2, 3 ... etc)
And when i duplicate the shape i have to manually insert the next number in the row.

My question is can this be automated ?

If i try to record a macros but it just repeats my steps exactly....
But i want the offset of duplication to be the same as i did is the first time (exactly as the repeat function do)
And i`m really not good in macros...

Sorry if my question is not clear enough :)

On the Visio Guy Webside is a shape that features that behavior. The article was sth. like the "super divided box shape" or such.
