Nektony has implemented the ability to preview Microsoft  Visio drawings on iOS devices.

VSD Viewer enables iPad and iPhone owners to discover the advantages of using Visio drawings, diagrams, charts, and illustrations in a mobile environment.
By using VSD Viewer users can easily distribute Visio drawings to team members, partners, customers, or others, regardless of whether they have Microsoft Visio installed on their computers. Viewing Visio drawings is as simple as clicking the drawing (files with a .vsd extension) on iPad or iPhone.
VSD Viewer will render the drawing in the proper window. Also it enables user: preview Visio drawings, navigate multi-page drawings, select and copy text.
The VSD Viewer is ideal for users who had to just open and preview Visio diagrams as reference.
VSD Viewer is especially useful for teams that need to collaborate from remote places.

You can paste it into any other applications that supports the text-graphics
for example, into the Apple  Mail

Not all text formatting is displayed.
Nevertheless, I can preview my VSDs without converting to PDF.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing, AlexCormack!

I appreciate their honesty by stating the limitations: does not show EMFs, OLE objects, nor formatted text. Does that mean bitmaps won't show?

I imagine this thing could get better and better if they earn the funding to keep cracking away at the VSD file format.

Hello! Since my first publication we had implemented several great features:

• Hidden File Manager. Now you can easily serve your documents, open them from mail or dropbox and safe into folders, as well as upload drawings directly from your computer;
• Viewing of multipage documents;
• EMF, VMF, huge BitMap images depiction;
• Viewing of hidden/shadow-layers containing drawings;
• Improved text rendering.

Also we improved stability and performance. Make sure of it - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/vsd-viewer/id538386564?mt=8 - VSD Viewer for iPhone / iPad

Hello everyone!

VSD Viewer developers have implemented more great features.

Now the app supports WMF, EMF, OLE images, is able to switch layers; general processing of documents takes less memory & time. Text renders the same way as on Windows.

Also you can lock the app from unauthorized access by password on entrance.
