Need help hyperlinking excel cell to visio shape

I'm not sure if this is possible, but will explain it the best that I can. Basically I have an excel sheet with roughly 200 PC's and printer serial numbers. I also have a layout of our plant in Visio with shapes as to where these PC's and printers are located. I would like to be able to click on the information in the excel cell and be directed directly to the shape of the location to save time of looking through each shape to match up the data info. Any ideas?

I can get it to hyperlink and open the spread sheets but not to the particular shape in visio or cell in excel. I've been looking everywhere through forums and keep coming up empty handed, so any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Don't feel bad about not finding a unique solution for what you've built, it's probably not out there. You're looking for a data based solution (not database) that can be linked between a data source and a visio drawing that in most cases does not have the necessary links built. This forces a brute force approach of searching every shape on every page for matching data fields between the source and the shape.
If starting from scratch you would develop a visio shape naming standard that would map a shapes name to a unique record in your data source (this of course can be retrofit in some cases, scan the shapes for a unique shapedata field and then rename the shape). Then you can write code on the excel side to open the drawing and search page by page for the necessary shape name.
