Everything on your website is CAPTCHA Code obstructed, and the CAPTCHA images are not functioning.  I've logged into your website using Internet Explorer, Thunderbird, and Google Chrome, and none of them display the stupid CAPTCHA codes.  Are you really being hammered continuously by automated systems, or are you just trying to feel important?  I cannot register, I cannot submit a comment, and I can't even inquire about hiring you because all contact conduits are CAPTCHA blocked.  I'll probably find that this message requires a CAPTCHA entry before it can be posted.

The CAPTCHAs work fine here. They are needed to prevent thousands of bots from registering.

Here's a *.jpg of the screen that asks for the CAPTCHA code to be entered.  Can you please interpret it for me?

Paul Herber

Ah, that's from the blog which uses Wordpress, not this forum. Even so, I don't see that form, does anyone else?
What sequence of clicking on what gets you there?

Hmmmmm.  Don't think I've seen that.  Normally, I just see the standard Captcha presentation....

I see it all the time....just gave up trying to access anything thru that portal

wapperdude

OK.  So, how do you get to it, and how do you get around it?

On the VisioGuy site, I click on Visio Links, and select Shapes and Stencils.  In the next screen that appears, I click on USB Stick Shape (although every item I've tried behaves the same way hereafter).  In the next screen that appears, I click on the underlined URL link, and it takes me to a download page where there's a VisioGuy bubble-head with the option to Register.  I click on this, and the WordPress screen appears with the request for the CAPTCHA code (shown in the previously sent *.jpg).

If WordPress is the wrong endpoint, what's the path to get to the correct one?

streborc

When I access the Visio Guy website at www.visguy.com, the information at the very bottom of the screen states "Powered by WordPress".  So if WordPress is not the website hosting service, and is only a blog, does this mean your entire website has been hijacked?

Paul Herber

Wordpress is the software running the main site blog, so Wordpress is quite legit. However, I don't think you should see that dialog.
Not sure what to suggest until The Main Man has a look.

Right, I do now see trhat CAPTCHA dialog, however, I do get the image. It's a 24-bit PNG image created by the server, it's not reliant on java or javascript.  I have no idea why you don't see it.

I've been poking around the web looking for a solution to "captcha code not viewable", and it seems as if this is a bigger problem for web site designers that it is for ordinary folks trying to login.  Unfortunately, all the information on the topic is geek-speak.  I'm hoping for a solution that doesn't require me to tear-down my PC, install a new processor, and migrate to Linux.

So even though none of the web browsers -- Firefox, Chrome, or IE -- would produce the CAPTCHA code graphic, I logged into www.visguy.com with my Android tablet, and the CAPTCHA code was viewable on its browser.  I'm guessing that Windows 7 Pro has a security setting somewhere that blocking the image content.

Paul Herber

It could be the security software on your computer that is blocking the image. Some websites use images like this for tracking.
