I have a shape that has an option of having either one or another shape with it. The user will be placing cameras, and with a certain camera the user will need to also choose from two lenses.  I know I could accomplish this visually with shape data & two sub-shapes by controlling visibility of the sub-shapes depending on which lens the user selects in the Shape Data.

Buuuuut.... The drawing created with these sheets will be used to create a report.  If I have two sub shapes on that main shape and contol visibility of them, I fear that either:
1.) the lenses will not be reported at all (since the report pulls from the main shape's shape data?)
2.)or both lenses will be listed, even though only one was chosen & displayed.

Can this be tackled?  Or do I need to re-think this all together?

You ought to be able to use the visibility setting as a "flag" to ignore one image or the other.  Very simply, an IF statement should suffice.  Your report could use the "flag" to determine whether or not to use a particular lense.

In theory, anyway...
