Is there a way to change the properties of a shape, especially a line, so that no other shape can be glued to it regardless of the Glue To settings?

I tried removing the connection points using the Connection Point tool as described here:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio-help/add-move-or-delete-connection-points-HP001231166.aspx#BM4

This works for 2-dimensional shapes, but I can't seem to find the connection points for lines.

Lines are 1D shapes and behave differently.  One thing you can do, after you have the line drawn, is to right click it, then Format > Behavior > and change it from 1D to 2D.  This will solve the glueing issue.  If you need to change the line, you'll need to return it to 1D.
