Connectors

Please help me before I go insane-
I drew a horizontal connector. Not connected to anything
The connector has 2 connection points on it
There are 2 connectors coming vertically off each of the connection points (see attached)
I want to move the right end of the connector to the left
When I do, all the connection points shift left, turning my vertical connectors into zig-zag lines.

In a nutshell, I want the connector to shorten, not "shrink" so the connection points don't move

When you look into the ShapeSheet of the line with the ConnectionPoints you'll find that there are formulas in the X-Position of the connection points like:

=Width*0.443

So the CP is positioned relative to the width of the shape. That's normal behaviour.
You have to change that to absolut values, like:

=23 mm

Or a formula not depening on the width, but for example on the BeginX-Cell:

=BeginX+23mm

...or alternate would be to set EndX to equal BeginX,  something like "Guard(BeginX)" without the quotes.  This will force the line to remain vertical, but you can still change it's length.

So what I'm hearing is there's no easy way to chop the end of a line off. The suggested method is pretty complicated if I have a multi-segment line.

Well, you could select all of the pieces, then stretch and shrink...

But, as constructed, the attached lower end of the vertical pieces gets its reference from the horizontal piece, the free end has no specific shape reference, so it's position is relative to the page.  That's why it doesn't move.
