Funny Behavior - Line with two labels

About 2 years ago there was a thread here titled "Creating a Custom Visio Connector".  I found it very helpful and after some experimenting and tweaking, I created a connector that does the job I need - almost.  There are two problems.  I can live with both, but I'd like to resolve them and to understand what caused them.

The most significant problem is the vertical changes made to the "To" label on the connector when either box is moved.  It's most obvious when the movement is horizontal.  I tried to prevent this with the X Behavior and Y Behavior setting in the ShapeSheet, but while this seems to have worked for the "From" label it did not for the "To" label.

The second problem was that VISIO kept resizing the "From" label's box when the "Subject" entity is moved.  I stopped this by locking the shape of that text box with a GUARD in both the width and height.  This lock works fine for me, but it feels like a kludge and I don't understand is happening.

I've been working with VISIO since about 1999, but I'm really a novice.  I just use it for a few simple tasks and I never explored the ShapeSheet until this week.  Mostly I draw Entity Relationship Diagrams which can contain hundreds of boxes and lines and be as much as 4' X 15' in size.  I don't and can't use VISIO custom symbols because they do too much and are the wrong notation for my purposes.  The symbols on the sample are the ones I plan to use regularly from now on.
