Has anyone ever looked at the Microsoft Office Marketplace when searching for 3rd-party add-ons etc. for Visio?
I'm particularly interested in knowing which of the categories you looked in, or if you haven't looked until now, which category you would choose. As you can see , there is no Visio category but there are categories for Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook etc.

My initial reaction when presented with a list like that is just to search and hope for the best, parcing a long list like that is no fun (they really should take the time to redesign that page). But I took the time to read through each one, and my favorite is "Make Excel work for you", who wouldn't want Excel to work for them? By far the most engaging link in the list.

If I was looking for some Visio stuff, the only ones that would expect to possibly find anything related is "Document Automation" and "Developer resources", nothing else really says Visio to me.

There really should be a link for "Visio Shapes" in the list.  Or if you can use any phrase, "Find the Visio shapes/resources you need".

Thanks Joe, I was hoping for a few more responses before I replied!
Anyway, yes, that page "they really should take the time to redesign that page" is the redesigned page! It used to be split into major categories, some of which had sub-categories, now they all seem to be a flat structure.
You might have guessed (correctly) that I have an agenda with this!
I'm amazed that the product managers for the excluded products don't kick up a fuss. But what do I know?  ???

OK.

Basically, I don't go there.  If I need something, I either track it down with Google, thru Visio forums, or specific searches on the Office and related websites.  But, I don't think I fit the typical  "explorer", so I withheld offering any comments.

When viewing site, which has some Visio related stuff if you type Visio in the search bar. I had a look around and found this list of shortcuts for anyone who does not already use them Note are basic Office but there are some specific to Visio on the list.
It is only on rare occasions do I visit any MS site, if they did not try and run the world perhaps they may get more people on side.

Thanks Visio Guy

I am still finding my way around your web site, it's packed full of interesting information.

If only there had been a reference site like this when I started using Visio.
