Updating Shape Data Fields with Excel File and VB

I am trying to create a module in VB, which would retrieve the information from excel file and update specific shape data.  It is pretty easy to do the report and transfer all the shapes info from visio into excel sheet. But I am trying to the vise verse - update the report data and put it back to the shapes. Would anyone one how to do that?
