Lock Shape Size

I feel like I'm missing something.... I use Visio allot and one thing I've never resolved is when I resize a shape and then copy and paste the same shape, it pastes the original dimensions. I've tried locking the width and height in protection, but it still pastes the original shape size, not the res-zed one. Can someone advise? Thank you

That's not normal, which shape?

It is an org chart shape (any of them really). If I do it with basic shapes it is fine, and pastes the resized shape size.

The org-chart shapes are controlled by an addon that sits in the background, when you paste the shapes it overwrites the size you set. There is a workaround, select the shape, open the shape's shapesheet (you may need to lookup how to do this), look athe shape's width and height cells, now if you want the shape to be 50mm wide then set the width cell to =GUARD(50mm)

I'm new to Visio and the power is amazing, the crashes and quirks are a pain.
