Hi folks, I'm new to the forum and fairly new to Visio and I cannot seem to find a solution to an issue I am having.

I am working in Visio Premium 2010, often on files created in 2003, making ground plans for a convention center.

On most drawings that I open I cannot stack or overlay multiple items, they snap to beside each other instead.  In the various postings I see a lot about how to use this feature but nothing on how to disable it.

Any pointers are helpful, this issue is creating a lot more work.

are you possibly looking for AutoConnect. Check file => options => advanced => enable Autoconnect and uncheck it.

That didn't solve the problem.

Still looking for the answer as I don't want to have to redraft years of drawings just to use a new version of visio lol.  Unfortunatly the persons who originally created them is not available.

A few additional bits of information that I am discovering:

1)  It appears only the shapes that were created in house are having the issue.

2)  I can drop the shapes over the walls on the drawings just not other shapes.

I don't know if either of those things make sense or help in a diagnosis.
