using elements of visio diag in power point

I have a visio diagram I want to use in power point and animate or reveal each shape one at a time in sequence. It has too many shapes to redraw or cut and paste one at a time (a lot of connectors too).

I can transfer a whole diagram but then I can't ungroup to access each shape.
I can embed the diagram which will let me edit it with viso tools but not animate the elements.

Is there a way I can select all the visio shapes and paste them into a powerpoint slide so I can access them individually?

I've got further but i've gone too far the other way!

I found that if I paste special/metafile then all the elements can be ungrouped.

unfortunately, it ungroups EVERY element - seperating the text, fill, outline etc into seperate items. I can't find a way to reselect the elements of a shape to regroup them (tried ctrl/select but i can't get at all the parts) and even if I could it would take ages to do all the shapes.

any thoughts?

copy and paste each visio shape you want into power point.   Then animate that shape via power point tools.

about 2 years ago, I played with animating visio...made some decent progress, but the real job took over my time,
The posts are on this website...feel free to take that further if want....but if I were you, I would just copy the indiviudal shapes or subgroups into PPT and animate there.

the other way to go is the following

- make a visio diagram of interest
- insert new visio page
- copy / paste diagram
- make changes as you deem appropriate
  (if you want to show motion....do this insert/copy/past N times...move the shape in motion somewhat)
- copy to powerpoint page by page
- animate the powerpoint to march thru the pages.
