Get rid of thick black lines in org chart

I have created an org chart and drawn my own connector lines (the ones Visio auto-created were not aesthetically pleasing).  Unfortunately in doing so, several lines end up being on top of each other (as I may have 8 lines going from one manager to 8 employees, and for the most part they overlap).  On the screen, you can see that the lines look thicker in places (where they overlap).  If I print to paper from Visio, it comes out fine though, but in print preview or if I save as a jpg, the thick black lines are shown.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?  I imagine there is, b/c it doesn't happen in every case--some managers have several overlapping lines that look fine (they look like a single, normal line).  I have tried aligning the lines (thinking maybe they were microscopically out of alignment) and grouping the lines, but nothing seems to work.  Thanks for any help!
