How can I export Equipment, Pipelines, Valves as XML from Visio ?

This may be more steps than you want, but could you export to Excel (Tools|Export to Database, then choose Excel), then save the resulting Excel file as XML (which I know is available in Excel 2007, and possibly in 2003 as well)?

I just checked the shapes report (inventory) in v2010 and it has an xml format output available.
