Note sure where to post this,
I am new to Visio
I am doing floor layout of office space to include Data Network ports in each office.
Each wall plate can have any where from 1 to 6 ports on it.

I want to put the port numbers next to each plate. as well as indicate weather it is active or not and type of equipment
it is connected to ... PC, Printer, and maybe specific network it is on ie: (academic, admin, Mobility ect)
I was using the standard telicom symbol for data/ telephone, then putting the list into the label.

What I would like to do is, have each port link to an external data base, that could automatically be populated with data from the visio diagram...

I have visio 2007

Hi!
There is sth. called the Data Base Wizard that should do what you want, but it may be that it is only part of Visio Professional.
You fin it in the Data-Menu.
