I'm new to Visio 2024 and I've been struggling with this issue for more than an hour. No matter what I've tried from online searches the end arrow will not default to none even though the beginning arrow default is always none.

Please take me through this step by step because I'm still trying to figure out where every thing is located. Also is there a way to reset Visio to it's factory settings?

Thanks in advance.

Most probably you mean, when you draw a connector, you do not want it to have arrows. If so, you can :

- Copy an existing connector that you have already edited to remove the arrows.
- Use a template for your diagram that has no arrows on connectors.
- Use a connector without arrows. Just pick some proper ready-to-use connector shape from one of the stencils.
- Modify the default connector for your drawing to not have arrows.

Could you please be more specific about the issue you have?

Technogeek

You are correct, it is connectors that I would like to remove the arrows from.

I'm so new to Visio that I can't find where to do your last three suggestions. In particular the one I like the most is to Modify the default connector, which I thought I had done but obviously not. So I am likely going to the wrong place in Visio. These ones.

- Use a template for your diagram that has no arrows on connectors.
- Use a connector without arrows. Just pick some proper ready-to-use connector shape from one of the stencils.
- Modify the default connector for your drawing to not have arrows.

Strange.  I thought "no arrowheads" was the default setting.  Have you chosen a "style" that might set the connector end to have an arrowhead?  If, so, either change style or create a custom style.

@wapperdude
Looks you are 100% right! For a blank diagram, the "no arrow heads" IS the default style!
Most probably the issue is then caused by the template then? (it can define the default style of connectors).

@Technogeek, here is what I mean:

- Use a different template. Meaning, when you start a new diagram, try using "Blank Diagram" or some template that is suitable for you. Each template may define the styles of the connectors, so you may have a great success (tm) starting from a different, more appropriate one.

- Use a different connector. Meaning, you can take a connector not only from the toolbar (ribbon), but also from stencils (the sidebar windows on the left); just pick some stencil that contains connectors, and pick the one you like.

- Change the default connector. This one may be a bit tricky, but manageable. Open the "Document Stencil" (checkbox on the ribbon) and then select in the "Document Stencil" stencil on the left sidebar the "dynamic connector" shape, and change it so that it does not have arrows.

I will go through all of your suggestions Nikolay however if I start with a Blank Drawing rather than a Blank Diagram it behaves the way I want it to without arrows. Odd that the behavior would be different between the two templates. Now this may have solved a problem I been having with a schematic that I started with the Blank Diagram template.

Thanks everyone for helping such a newbie.
