How to glue to lines to the center of shapes?

I am trying to draw a moderately complicated decision tree. It will have a series of boxes. Each box will have 1 line leading into it and 2 lines leading from it to the next box and so on. Like this:

These are my the snap and glue settings.

The problem I am having is that when there is more than 1 line attached to a box, sometimes the lines glue to each other and not the box. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

When snapping to the shape you need to wait to see the green frame around it.

Maybe that was the problem. In any case, after fiddling around a bit, it started working.
