Hi all,

new to this forum and hope someone can help my small brain ...

I wanted to creat kind of a bicycle wheel:

circle outside, bars towards the centre but not reaching the center, just an "inner circle". Without transparency, that would have been easy. I did twi cirles and the bars, the inner circle would "hide" the bars ... but unfortunately the "subtract" Method I wanted to use failed greatly (or I made a mistake which can easily be the case).

I have attached a Visio 2003 file that basically shows what I want - the right shape. BUT ... ALL white areas need to be transparent so that the background image will shine thru.

To show the elements I have used so far, I made the circles in bul ...

So, my questions are:

1.) How can I subtract the "light blue" ring from the bars?

2.) how can I subtract the darker blue are from the rest?

Thanks so much for your help!
Joe

An alternative approach to Yacine's example is:  http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=566.msg2396#msg2396

The attached file shows how this could be used to generate the spoke pattern.  The macro is part of the file.  (I hope.)
