Another at-least-ten-year-old Visio Smart Shape. This one's so old it's new!
If you've seen the Visio Advent Calendar (http://www.visguy.com/2006/12/01/visio-advent-calendar/), then you might have found the Lava Lamp lurking behind one of the doors. But if you don't feel like waiting for December Somethingth, then here you go!
I'm trying to imagine this with vojo's animation!
I'd like Vojo to animate it!
I have a recollection of this being a Gary Larson Farside cartoon:
"All final year science students get a one semester course in reanimating dead lava lamps".
:D
People, people, people!
When you go around saying irresponsible things, like "animate the lava lamp", don't you know that folks will likely attempt this, and throw us further into recession as productivity plummets?
:P
::)
Well, of course. Besides, it occuppies idle time with productive creativity, providing an illusion of importance. :o
That way, as the economy slumps, I can still be happy!!! ;)
It's animated! Thanks to Vojo's development of animation in Visio, see Visio Animation Template ( http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=361.0 ), the Lava Lamp now has rising/sinking globules. Attached are the Visio drawing and the separately attached macro. Just copy and paste the contents of the text file into ThisDocument via Tools>macro>Visual Basic Editor. The macro is specific for this particular Visio file, and there are no provisions for controlling the length of time it runs. Pretty bare bones, but fun, nonetheless.
Enjoy!

PS.: Perhaps a real programmer can embellish this thing.
Good job, Wapperdude!
I found myself staring in wonderment at the moving globules for way too long...
