Title: Chemical formula shape
Post by: Paul Herber on April 04, 2012, 08:10:42 AM
I've recently created a shape for showing chemical formulae, H2O upwards! It shows an interesting property of text format fields expanding to suit the entered data.

Very Cool!
It's a revolution in Visio.

Nice work.....just a thought

If you do this (text with subscripts et al), would you also want a text with bonding lines?

Something like O-H-O kind of thing

Maybe have both flavors in 1 or 2 stencils

Just a thought

You read my mind - that will be next - but more than just text.

BTW....if you choose to go down this slippery slope ;D   then

Mind as well think about the following (in ascending difficulty)
   - standard molecules with balls and lines
   - standard molecules with various views (since some may not be symmetric from front)
         - Iso front left top
         - Iso back right bottom
    - VBA to take a text string and create the molecule with balls and such
(allows user to create non typical molecule pictures)

Just here to help  ;D
