Title: How make an oval that is partly solid, partly dashed
Post by: Jennifer on July 16, 2013, 11:28:54 PM
I would like to replicate the diagrams on this website.

http://www.cso.caltech.edu/outreach/log/NIGHT_DAY/sunrise.htm

One problem that I am having is making perimieters of the the ovals partly solid and partly dashed. Can anyone suggest a technique to achieve that?

Thanks

Devide an oval into 2 peaces with menu Fragmentation.
Change a half oval line type to dotted line.
And you need to change Row type of geometry in shapesheet.

That's what I want, but I don't understand step 4. I actually tried fragment, but always ended up with the diameter line.

If I right-click the selected half of the fragmented shape, the top option is Show ShapeSheet. If I click that option, I get a whole bunch of fields. In the Geometry 1 section, there is both a MoveTo field and a LineTo field. They both have the same value "=Width*0.9759".

What do I do now?

And what does it mean?

Change the row type of both diameters of half ovals
from LinetTo to MoveTo.
