Hello.

I want to ask you, how to create a complex shape that has a custom outline, that repeats when i increase it length. In shape sheets i have seen such shapes (in the example is the "heat trace" shape)

I the example have created some shape with straight corners, and underneath i have placed another shape, repeating this pattern.

Can anyone explain to me, how to make such shape.

sounds like custom fill pattern to me (maybe custom line pattern but I dont think that will give you 2 dimensions of growth)

Know steps to create a custom fill pattern and whether you want to stretch or replicate as fill area grows

Probably make a square or whatever, set line to no visibile, use your new fill pattern....should look like what you want but
you WONT be able to edit the vertices of you shape....just be able grow the square in 2 dimensions.

I have come to this idea some time ago... But it was not the best solution for me. Otherwise, if it is the only way... it is my way :)

Check the attachment. You need to set the behavior to repeat and scale.

Or, Visio has extra stencil.
The shape "15 lines column" in "Title" can be expandable when you pull down the shape frame. 
You might analyze the mechanism in the shapesheet, and build your own shapes.
