Title: How to Write Code - Require Specific Text to be Added When Starting Drawing
Post by: assyrian47 on February 14, 2024, 04:59:03 PM
All,

I have a master drawing that contains an ANSI-B Sheet 1 and Sheet 2.

Sh1, Sh2, Sh1 Background, Sh2 Background

I want users of this master to add the following Data to the background drawings

Project Name
Drawing Title
Drawing Type (Source Control) (Assembly) (Detail)
Revision
Date Created
Date Last Used

On the other sheets

Set scale on each page

Can all this be accomplished using VISIO VBA? I am not a programmer.

Hopefully this is clear enough for a response.

It can be done with either VBA or shapesheet functions.

As a 1st shot, try creating simple, say 2 or 3 page org chart manually with desired structure.  Then export to Excel.  Check out the Excel file structure and see if there are key features to be used.  Then, start with blank Visio file and import the Excel file.  Verify it appears correctly.
