If this is well-executed, great way to get Visio under the attention of Office 365 business users.

This web app is toy, but may be it is enought for business users :)
Just compare it with vecta.io (https://vecta.io) or https://app.diagrams.net/ (http://diagrams.net/) (aka draw.io)

Visio Plan 1 is 'lightweight' Visio web app, not standalone installed application !

Hopefully there will be a big Plan 1 upgrade as well :)

Yes, MS plans to develop and update mainly this web application! Looks like they think the standalone app is hopeless?

They could have included Visio in the Office pack years ago, while Visio was still in trend... I am not sure if it will help to restore Visio popularity now.

Visio Plan 1 is 'lightweight' Visio web app
I am wrong, article about more lightweight than Plan 1. Ultra lightweight - Visio in Microsoft 365

David published a summary in his blog
Quote from: David J Parker (https://mvp.microsoft.com/en-us/PublicProfile/21090) in article Visio in Microsoft 365? What's that? (https://bvisual.net/2021/10/01/visio-in-microsoft-365-whats-that/)Now that a version of Visio is being rolled out as part of the commercial subscription of Microsoft 365 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2021/06/09/bringing-visio-to-microsoft-365-diagramming-for-everyone/), what is the difference between it and the Visio Web App that is delivered by Visio Plan 1 and Visio Plan 2 subscriptions?

Moreover, can a Visio diagram created by an M365 user be round-tripped with Visio Web App and Visio Desktop App users?
