Good news this feature is planned for this month!

Visio: Improved interoperability between the Visio web and desktop apps. Diagrams with shapes with gradient will work in the web editor now.

This feature will enable users to open files that were previously not supported for editing in Visio for the web. Users will be able to edit shapes with certain properties like gradients, fills, and INK objects. However, some interactions will be blocked or optimized.

Great ! But my documents will not open after this update because they contain a lot of proprietary shapes, with complex formulas in the property table. A lot of cells are protected with options like LockBegin, LockCustProp, LockEnd, LockGroup...

Yes I know, fortunately support for Desktop features seems to expand (gradients coming etc) but sloooooowly....

Gradients ? Sounds so glamourous   :o
Gradient properties section was added in Visio 2013...
