Hi all, hope you are all doing well!  Question, a client is ademate about having the original visio file, we do not charge for these but do it as an added benefit when we sell hardware so they do not officially have any rights to the file but in order to play niceley we are going to send it but i want to stop anyone else from the hard work i have put into all the shapes/shape data.   What is the best way to dumb down a whole drawing eliminating all styles and shape data but keeping the drawing as it is?   cheers all

Can't think of an easy way to do this, there are ways to lock the document but they are easy to get around.
Removing shapedata may break the shapes in all sorts of ways.

As Paul indicates, there is ultimately, no absolute protection possible, but.... you can make it difficult.

There are "protection" features within the shapesheet.
You can add "Guard" fcn to a lot of features.
From the Drawing Explorer window, you can protect the file.
You can hide some pages.

You can incorporate macros.  Here're links to prevent someone from adding / deleting pages:  http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=15.msg26#msg26

I believe, via macro, you can catch some editing events and invoke "undo".

There's a ton of topics within forum, try searching for "protect".

Maybe this html export provides enough of the drawing for your client without having to give away the Visio file! https://unmanagedvisio.com/products/svg-publish/
