Hello! I'm hoping that there is a really simple answer to this question and it's a case of me just being slow! I recently moved from Visio 2010 to 2013, and I'm having issues resizing shapes on drawings which I created in 2010 but am now opening in 2013. I can resize as usual by grabbing the shape handles, but when I do so, I can't see the outline of the shape as I'm dragging it, so I can't tell where I am in the resize if that makes sense. I have searched and searched both Visio and Google for a solution to this and can't find anything! It's not occurring with new drawings which I create n 2013, but when I try to copy and paste out of a 2010 into a 2013, or covert from 2010 to 2013, it's still occurring. Can anyone help please, this is driving me crazy!!!!!! TIA!

From the ribbon:
File -> Options -> Advanced
and check that Enable Live Dynamics is checked.

Thanks Paul - enable live dynamics is not selected, in fact it's grayed out. I suspect that this is because I'm working remotely over a VPN connection. The joys of working from home! I don't suppose you have any other suggestions? Many thanks.

That might be it, perhaps shape outline doesn't work over VPN.

vojo

if have done 2013 and teams remotely over VPN (Cisco dialer) for years...never had this problem, FWIW

Graphics engine settings in visio all good?

I assume a modest number of shapes on page (<1000)...
Though I have had 6000 shapes on a page in teams, with no problems

I have seen serious lag if you use cursor arrows to move a shape when many shapes on a page.
