Visio 2013 standard edition link to excel database

Hello,

I would like to know how to properly link excel data to Visio master shapes

I am close to succeed, but every time I add master shape to my drawing Visio ask me to chose my data base.

Have you any advices ?

It is strange my first experiment let me use datalink via add-on

Indeed I don't have "data" tab but it seems to works

I never use Standard editions. Just read this article with compare editions.

I was digging the subject I don't understand why Visio ask me every shape I drop to chose my database!

What I discovered is no need Visio pro to connect to a database ... but pro is more powerful with database with specific view and more options.
